Negin has a practice that focuses on family law and general commercial civil litigation. Negin has assisted clients with a broad range of matters. In civil litigation she has assisted with letters of demand, negotiations for settlement, mediation, and obtaining preservation orders and Norwich orders. She has appeared before the BC Human Rights Tribunal, the Provincial Court of British Columbia, and the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and has obtained favourable results for her clients in all three.

During her undergraduate studies, Negin helped run the women’s centre at Simon Fraser University as part of its collective. After her undergraduate studies and before law school, Negin then worked as a full time volunteer at a support centre for battered women. There she worked as the first point of contact when clients came through the door. Her ability to put people at ease during some of the most challenging moments of their lives helped clients survive through escalated crisis situations. At the support centre, Negin also taught classes on the cycle of abuse and life skills needed to move on from the devastating situations the women who accessed those services faced. Negin is passionate about truth-telling and enabling her clients to tell their stories through her advocacy.

Prior to coming to YLaw, Negin worked for four years as both a solicitor and litigator at a full service business law firm in Vancouver. She drafted contracts, taught seminars, and wrote legal opinions and editorial pieces on technology matters and emerging areas of law.

Negin remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

APPROACH

Negin approaches the practice of law both as a strong advocate and as a thoughtful strategist for creative, collaborative solutions within the framework of law.

On every file Negin works on, the first thing she does is listen. She listens carefully to her client’s concerns, priorities, and story so she can fully understand not just the legal issues, but also the human impact behind them. Negin believes that strong advocacy begins with empathy and clarity, and she ensures her clients feel heard and supported throughout the process.

At the same time, she remains attentive to what the opposing party is seeking. By doing so, Negin is often able to identify opportunities for resolution that others might overlook. If there is a chance for a fair settlement, she works diligently to bring the parties together in a constructive way. However, when settlement is not possible, Negin is fully prepared to advocate assertively in court to protect her client’s rights and achieve the best possible outcome.

Her approach is balanced: she is compassionate and collaborative when possible, but unwavering and determined when necessary. Above all, Negin’s goal is to help her clients move forward with confidence and peace of mind, knowing that they have both a strong advocate and a steady guide at their side.
