Leah is a highly skilled litigator practicing in estate litigation, civil litigation, and family law in British Columbia.

She has appeared before the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia in a wide range of hearings, including chambers applications and trials. She has extensive experience with will disputes, wills variation claims, and contested estate matters that sit at the intersection of family life and what follows it.

She is not afraid of litigation and is highly confident and organized.

Her path into law is as compelling as her practice: she spent several years as a paralegal at a well-known firm, building first-hand knowledge of legal processes and procedures from the inside.

That experience sparked her passion for law.

After becoming a single mother with a young child, she set her sights on the bar and did not stop until she got there. In 2021, she became a lawyer.

The same determination that carried her through law school now drives every client file she takes on.

Leah is deeply passionate about her work as a lawyer and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients and the community at large. She looks forward to the opportunity to assist you on your legal journey and provide you with the guidance and support you need.

APPROACH

Leah’s personal journey informs everything she does as a litigator. As a previously single mother who raised a child on her own before building a blended family, she has lived through the financial strain, emotional complexity, and legal pressure that push families to their breaking point. This experience gives her a distinct perspective, not just on family law, but on the estate disputes and civil claims that so often follow. She knows what it costs to fight for what matters, and that understanding shapes every case she takes on.

As a parent of a special needs child, Leah also understands the persistence and resilience that navigating complex systems demands, and she brings both to the courtroom. Leah is a skilled and fearless advocate who is not afraid to fight hard for her clients’ rights. She is systematic and structured in her preparation: she does not walk into a hearing without being completely ready. She works with exceptional drive, does not give up when a file becomes difficult, and has the composure and thick skin to take a hard matter all the way through.

In her legal practice, Leah provides strategic, results-focused representation to her clients.

With a primary focus on estate disputes, wills variation claims under the Wills, Estates and Succession Act (WESA), contested estate litigation including capacity challenges and undue influence claims, and civil litigation, she builds a tailored strategy for every case based on the specific facts and what is at stake.

She also maintains a thoughtful family law practice, where her lived experience deepens her ability to guide clients through high-conflict matters. Her dedication to achieving real outcomes for her clients and her refusal to give up defines her practice.

  • Waiver of settlement privilege in V.S.C. v. S.C.C., 2025 BCPC 194: Successfully argued an application to waive settlement privilege on the basis of public interest and the protection of the administration of justice — a nuanced and significant procedural achievement, as courts rarely depart from the strong protection ordinarily afforded to settlement communications.
